Norfolk Island by Jonty Southam

Just a short 2.5 hour flight from Sydney is Norfolk Island, a small but beautiful island that’s only 8km long and 5km wide. A tiny island that is packed with history, nature and the friendliest community.

On my 4 day trip with Norfolk Select, we started our trip with an Island Orientation Tour, the perfect way to see a little bit of everything from the calm turquoise waters of Emily Bay to the historic ruins of Kingston. Evenings were a highlight too, with a Progressive Dinner in the homes of friendly locals, learning about their livelihood and listening to their wonderful stories. As well as the iconic Island Fish Fry, fresh food, cultural entertainment and amazing sunset views.

Days on Norfolk can be as relaxed or adventurous as you like. Hike through national parks, snorkel in quiet bays, visit the old barracks and jail, hop on a glass bottom boat or simply soak up the peaceful island lifestyle. Norfolk is all about slowing down, discovering its history and enjoying the beauty around you.

Small island vibes, convict history, incredible nature, Norfolk Island has it all.

I was able to inspect many properties on the island during my visit, if you are interested in travelling to Norfolk Island I am happy to chat with you about which accomodation will be best for you.
